Spot the deliberate mistake

Sparkplugs have the screw-on top caps still on...but one of the head studs pokes out longer than the others; could be pulled.

Well,
The valve guides are pretty new,as are the valves etc,
So everything just needed a good clean up and some blingy push rod tubes.

It's an old one from when the pots were hung from racks and Hooks and all cooked above the fire

I’m lost for words,
The PO fitted new barrels ,valve guides etc but didn’t check the cam followers.
Bizarre,
The sump had also been off and cleaned out

I’m not going to repair the end cover as I have some spares

An initial clean shows all looking good

New bearings,
Camplate springs and detent roller upgrade,
Low 1st gear,high 5th gear

Strip each shaft,gear inspect and rebuild

Looks like the crank has been balanced.

Looks like it’s had a fair bit spent on it , but didn’t take it all the way, new pushrod tubes etc.

The chain looked new but the tensioner blades were buggered
