Does anyone out there know if there are any alloys which would be a straight swap for the spoked wheels on an R100R?
Just a thought.....

The rear wheel will be the issue. The four stud hub pattern was also used on the airhead monolever bikes, but I recall reading somewhere that when fitted the rear wheel has a different brake drum depth/offset.

I believe that some of the K series (brick) models had the same four stud hub pattern but I haven't heard of anyone fitting them to a paralaver (R100R/GS).

If you ask nicely I'm sure that there will be someone who lives near you who will have a bike with the correct rear hub fitting, who will let you try their wheel on your bike for size/fitment.

In the dark and distant past I fitted K1/16VKRS wheels into a 100gs paralever.
The front fits OK different spindle spacer needs making and and adaptor for the brake caliper.
Rear wheel you need the inner casting from a paralever rear drive hub to mount the rear caliper on and the wheel needs spacing out a couple of MM the hole in the outer casing where the brake spindle fits needs blanking off (infact i have a SS piece spare as i manufactured 2 just in case) warm the housing and shrink fit and Bobs your uncle.
I am sure I had some other minor mods to do but the memory is failing but nowadays I just get on and ride them
I cant find any pictures of it

Hmmm, interesting, but it sounds like the sort of job that needs rather more than my 'Black and Decker and a big hammer' approach to engineering.
Shame, I thought it could look good, not to mention making cleaning sooo much easier!
Cheers guys,
Tibs

I have an alloy rear down in dartmoor if you are around this way ... or I work in exeter so could drop off if you want it

these are they...

Sooo....
Does anyone out there think that wheel would fit a paralever without major surgery??
I'll try and scoot down sometime to offer it up to the bike, if that's ok, but I'm tied up for the next couple of weeks. (Should never have let her read 50 shades of grey...)

Two options

Option 1 - don't do it (why would you?)

Option 2 - sell bike and buy r1200r (or r850r/ r1150r)

I think an r100r would be almost as useful as an r100gs on an adventure tour, similar toughness and repairability without the height. It's already a GS chassis with the strong wire wheels......

Am I right?
