Hi there,
I am hoping someone might be able to assist. Long story short I have had my 1100 for nearly twenty years, its done 70k just over. It has been laid up since just after covid for various reasons and I have recently started to try and resurrect it.
The old standard injectors were blocked and as such I have fitted the new kit with the 1200 injectors. For some reason it won't run unless i use brake cleaner in the airbag. It won't throttle up and dies out without brake cleaner being sprayed in it. There is fuel at the lines to the throttle bodies and fuel flow from the tank once the fuel pump has done its sequence. What I have found is what I assume to be the return fuel line is not recirculating any fuel.
The fuel is fresh and super unleaded. So, I have a spark, I have fuel, but it won't run up on its own and cuts out once any throttle is applied. I did do the recommended setup process with the new injectors which says to turn ignition on, turn full throttle twice and turn ignition off again, then start. I have noticed that the choke cable is not the best and I understand that this is only a fast idle which essentially opens the throttle slightly, I wonder if this is stuck. Its impossible to see where the choke cable goes under the ABS unit so I haven't felt bothered to strip it down that far.
So I am now at a loss as to getting it back up on its feet at the moment and have spent a fair few quid on it recently. Also both the throttle cables are seated correctly as they should be as I am aware this can also be a common issue.
If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know if possible. I am wondering of its fuel pump related now as everything else is new.
Any advice is greatly received. With thanks,
Nige
