Great idea, fed up of the battle scars, i would certainly be intrested at the price you are quoting.

Would / could it be a secret fix under the existing beak with no drilling of the beak? which is what i think you have to do, when fixing to an 1150.

Simon

The Adv protector has 4 holes in it which would require drilling on the standard 1150 beak (please correct me if I am wrong anyone who has done this). I am looking to determine the best way for fixing to the 1100 but I can't imagine any alternative that would be truely safe and solid that would work without drilling some mounting points in the beak.
I am thinking to have the mounting bolts integrated into the underside of the 1100 protector so that you don't see anything from above but they would be moulded into the piece and be bolted on from underneath. I'm still playing with this at the moment - but it's looking promising. I am onto the 2nd mould now and with a bit more work we may see some prototypes in a couple of weeks. (I am only working on this in my spare time - which I never have enough of...)
Keep watching this space and I'll update as I make any progress (or not) ;)

Be interested to see the finished article, I'm up for one.

Scratched Beak !

Dropped the garage door on mine last week, so a probiscal prophylactic would be of interest !

Gecko, are you still working on this? If so, I'm interested as well.

I have a good mould completed but over the winter it has slowed down because my workshop is freezing and the materials I have been working with need to be warm to work. The missus won't let me in the house because the stuff stinks .....but the mould is complete.
I have put my beak back on the bike (I hate seeing it naked and beakless) so I now need to find an 1100 beak to destroy so that I can continue to produce the finished products. I should be able to knock them out at about £1,457.62p each :D or close to that anyway ;) .... so in answer - yes it has got beyond prototype stage but not yet into production beyond the one or two I made and then messed around with.
I haven't given up yet ......although I sometimes question the wisdom of this little idea :P

Hi Gecko, Would please let me know if you have finished the mold for the peak that fits the 1100gs as I would like one due to the end of the beak being scuffed on mine. Regards Neil

Gecko.Appreciate how long ago you started.I'm a new member.Did it ever get poduced? If so any available and a what price now.?

Gecko

I'm up for one too. Hopefully the recent warm weather has thawed your workshop and allowed you to continue the project.

Guys
The mould is done and I am very happy with it but I am in search a a spare beak - I have refitted mine so I can stop riding 'naked & beakless' . The first few attempts showed me that to get a good even thickness on the finished product I need to inject the 'goo' in between the mould and a beak but I need another beak to bring this to a satisfying end result. Keep an eye on the forum - the project isn't dead but I must admit with the riding season now back in full swing I have rather been thinking about other priorities :D

Ok , duly noted . I am going to close this thread for now but the project is ongoing. I'll get back when there is a finished product to show......later in the year all being well. Thanks for the interest at least I know I am not the only nutter out there who thinks this would be a good idea.
