i know someone who may have a remus for an r1100gs for sale;)

Sling it off a cliff.

I understand that the terminal velocity of anything in free-fall is 120mph.

It's the only way that mine will ever get to 120mph. :)

Try slipstreaming one of these :D :D

Push it over the edge of a cliff.

It'll Work out cheaper and go faster than all the add on bollox

Just dont expect too much(it is a BMW boxer) know your limits:augie
As for K100 rs being faster. ive often left my big brov standing on his flying brick:thumb

I got whuped by a 600 merc around a big roundabout and it wasnt fun atall but i gave the bloke respect and a wave when I filtered past him at the next set of lights. Respect to the dude in the saab, his other vehicle is probably a gs!

saabs

Learn about USING the gear box, thats what it's there for.
dave gs.

Every now and again,I have a run in with a 335i Mbw.Not a cats hope in hell of keeping up with it on the road, but I always give the bloke a wave when I go past him in the traffic. He even lets me overtake if he can't,but he 's soon behind me again.Nice seeing a car do what it's meant to do(and I always get to Chester before him:thumb )

335i BMW :D 3 litre twin turbo & over 300 bhp :D :D Nice :thumb2 fiddled with a bit & nearly 400 bhp :roll
The biggest problem I`ve got with the throttle on my 12 GS is the bloody travel on it  anybody who invents a reduced travel throttle will be quids in on that :clap

V nice car indeedy. Two cars back from him,at 60mph,with ear plugs in,it still sounds gorgeous when he floors it:bounce1

Let the twerps in the cages go on the straights and sail past them in the twisties (or traffic) if you start tuning your bike to go faster than cars then they've, like, won (man)

Just get a Jap4 for the same money and you can wipe any car.

not the same thing of course :)

Whilst I realise MCN's interpretation of 'underpowered' may be relative but this morning (in about 800 yds) I wasn't able to overtake a SAAB 93 (presume turbo) whilst making a dash for the motorway.

He was obviously trying but nevertheless if I'd have been on my old K100RS I'd have passed him in half the distance!! I'd have passed him in the end but ran out of road and as a consequence had to abort, HOW EMBARASSING!!!!:blast Obviously this is not good enough!

MCN claim that the 1100GS barely makes 70bhp at the rear wheel, if this is true, what can I do about it (that won't be too expensive)? Alternatively am I going to have to go back to a K Series to make sure I don't get undone by a fecking shopping car!:nono

Sadly I can't afford a R1200GS or R1150GS. Help me please.:thumb

jus live wi it.cars are fast nowadays, my 320 d bmw will wup my 1150,s ass after 40mph by a long way, cars are v advanced now, an the old boxer is still an overwieght twin, with a basic engine compared to some, wanna go an wup cars?buy summat else im afraid;)

You Dont have to buy anything else-we all know that the GS 1100 would probably caught up and passed the Saab at somer stage of the journey without you having to take risks to do so. What you dont want to do is being seen by the saab driver attempting to race him/her thus giving them the satisfaction of beating you at that stage of the trip.

He was obviouly beyond help.... Posts N/A  last visit 27/05/07... so no longer with us

I cant see the point in trying to make it go any faster :nenau Its a big old bike that isnt build for drag racing. Ive ridden mine for alot of 1000s of miles and never wanted it to go any faster than it does..... If I want speed I would buy a R1 or something like that...

I've not found mine to be underpowered at all. I think, somewhere legal it will easily do 125mph with full luggage.

How fast do you need to go on a bike of this type?
