As i wasnt happy with the dated looks of the 1100 front mudguard, and the TT muddy was far too expensive , for a bit of plastic
I decided to modify mine...
Stuff to do job with
get yer sen a good hacksaw, pen, maskin tape , emery cloth ,ruler, and an angle grinder
1) remove muddy , (bloody obvious) , then appliy some maskin tape , decide how much ye wana cut off, draw yer cut line on ye muddy and get the hacksaw n cut the unwanted bit off.

2) clean up raged edges, and put muddy back on bike, to see if it looks ok.
i rounded it off a little more to keep the lines looking good.
I also wanted to chop the sides down too to give the guard a more sleeker look and cut some of the lower part of to make lines flow better
3) Put more masking tape on the muddy , mark yer cut line with the pen.
put yer muddy back on the bike (loose) so to see your lines and make any alterations
I chose the second line in to cut , so the lug (mudguard fixing) would have a good amount of meat and also still have the lines , and the look i wanted.
4) Its best to mark both sides so you have a good comparison, i just used my eye to get the shape,and measured some fixed points .
The fixing hole , this is the same each side so ye can use this as a reference point
Measure how deep your cut is from various points , then just use your eye , ive done quite a few mudguard , and plastics modifications on my other bikes in the past and ye get an idea what looks right
5) Get yer angle grinder and a good flapper disc fitted, a pair of saftey glasses (if yer a puff

Carefully follow the outside of your cut lines and gradualy shape yer muddy with the grinder, (this is a lot faster and gets better results) be bloody carefull or ye will lose a leg or yer dangly bits if ye fart
, or sneeze
I rested and gripped the muddy in between my legs so to get a good grip on the muddy and hold the grinder in my other hand (not recommended if ye not used to using grinders, they do bite)
work the edges in gradually, till yer close to your line.
6) Get some good emery cloth and smooth the edges off, this takes most of yer time, just be methodical and work on all the areas to get a good finish
I plan to remove the shite mud catcher, and fit a rubber flap ill cut down and fit at a later date
