R1100GS - Engine cuts out at idle when hot.

Just thought I'd post this to demonstrate how to check for a faulty throttle position sensor (this was on my bike).
The sensor is twisted using light pressure when the bike is at idle. If faulty, this procedure cuts the engine.

Good job :thumb2

I had an ongoing problem with my 1150 using too much fuel ( 40 mpg ) and sooting up the panniers, tried just about everything including the TPS but eventually changed the Lambda...sorted, and now getting 48mpg :clap

Linky no worky ?

Among other issues my bike was running rich before this repair, I'm hoping my tank range now increases.
I was just getting 180 miles down hill with a tail wind. Will be brimming it up on Thursday and going for a spin round North Wales.
Hopefully I'll get another 20 miles. Will report back.

Never mind the bike it's me that'll need to be tip top.
Al won't be coming due to a soiree abroad, so will have to do my own navigating. Could end up anywhere north of Glasgow.:D
Hopefully see you up there as I've booked a B&B in Strontian.:beerjug:

May the weather gods shine.:thumb2
