At the begining of last week i noticed that
my bike was slipping out of 2nd gear and then slipping back in again
thought i was a bit strange after just putting a new gearbox and clutch in.

Pissed off i rang up motorworks where i got the box from told the guy
what the problem was and ordered ANOTHER box this time i made sure that i
was going to get an M97 box cause these boxes surposed to be pucka :)

I got the new/second box two days later and to day decided to fit it
Put my jacket on and boots scarf n gloves (cause im working outside)

4 hours later the box was on the bike was rebuilt i started up the bike
and loada noise :( it sounds just like the box i originaly replaced.
shit....shit....shit. Oh and it still slippes in second gear. Can i have a new bike please. :tears :tears :tears :firemth I dont know what to do please help me.

eBay?

You have the older box still at your hands? Maybe someone will mate the two box'es details to make one working box? :nenau

I've got the '98 one too, and it ONCE jumped out of 2nd like yours, but on very low rpms (could be the vibration etc), but still it scared me shitless, but it never has done it again after some few hundred kilometres riding it. I greased the gear leveler moving bits troughoutly, maybe that helped it... You should try the same with the old box or new one you're fitting.

Cheers, Margus

Strip the origional box & see whats wrong , will give you a hand if required as long as you supply the tea :thumb

Im going to put the other box back in today
is there anything i can check on the cluch that might make it slip?
its a new cluch only done about 1k with it in.

Make sure the clutch is clean & no oil on it ,you have used a new pressure plate i hope when you fitted the clutch (just checking) :thumb

Did you replace the whole clutch unit, or just the friction plate ?
