Hey guys I’ve just fitted some Maxton shock absorbers to my R1100GS which has significantly raised the height of the bike. Obviously the huge lean angle on the side stand has increased, does anyone know of a decent foot for the stand to decrease this angle?

Cheers Paul

I'm awaiting my ice hockey pucks for my 1150gs. They are only 25 mm thick so I'm not sure how they will be. I've got a 40mm block of wood I've just test fitted and I'm thinking that probably around 32-35mm will be ideal.

We'll just have to see.

Got my puck today and fitted.
TBH I think it's enough. I thought the 25mm wouldn't be enough but I'd say it's just about perfect.

I'm about to down this route (puck in the post).

Any chance you could post a picture of the finished job please? Thanks

Here you go. I'd thought the puck might not have reduced the lean enough, but after a good run out yesterday and parking on a variety of surfaces I'd say it's just about right.

#1 Installed
#2 side stand retracted
#3 new lean angle

Thanks Welly.

So three counter sunk holes and then screws to hold the puck in place?
I just drilled 3 holes in the stand foot to fit some screws I already had (didn't bother counter sinking )and then screwed straight into the puck. I think self tapping screws have been recommended here before.
Straightforward job.

Spot on thanks guys, my mate plays hockey haha he’s sorted me a puck!!!

Agreed, I have one on mine.

You’ll love the Maxton’s
The Maxtons are out standing :) I highly recommend this. I’m a big lad and hadn’t realised how bad the originals had become. Completely transformed my riding.
