r1100rs flashing abs lights,and clock got no memory

bit of advice please i have just bought a r1100rs 44000 miles year is 1997 to use through the winter .it starts and goes as it should,no problems there.but i have flashing alternate abs lights on the dash ,also the clock does not remember the time ,i have done the wire to earth via the blue plug thingy ,its just the same,is this likely to be a battery ,even though it starts fine

any other ideas folks before i take the abs warning bulbs out of the clocks,i have put a new battery on ,done the middle pin to earth and held the abs switch down for 10 seconds with ignition on ,and yet it still goes to an alternate abs flashing lights as soon as i pull away

Well if you haven't had the fault codes read anything suggested will be a complete guess and will be a waste time and money.
