Well, its done 144000km and the clutch is slipping...And the gearbox rattles quite a lot in neutral...How much is it going to cost to get the clutch changed and rebuild the gearbox while its out? Its an early model, 1995. Any suggestions for an economic and trustworthy workshop to do the job? Preferably down south....
Would appreciate any suggestions, and can manage to laugh at the rude ones if they're good...
Thanks.

Assuming you want a UK repair, Steve Scriminger rebuilt my R1100 box last year, the gearbox was delivered to him by me, He quoted a standard £150 for strip and rebuild plus any required parts, mine had all bearings and seals plus 2 selector forks (£70 each!) total bill was a little over £400
He is a master at shimming and setting up these boxes, and the box is now much quieter and changes gear slickly without to much clunking, worth getting it done by him in my opinion.

Guess he will quote for ride in ride out job including clutch replacement, contact him at Scriminger Engineering http://scriminger.co.uk/

Spot on!

I've seen him inside 1100 gearboxes, he is so finicky and particular, if they're not perfect they come to bits again and get re-done until they are, and he's just the same with Airhead boxes too! DAMHIK!
