R1150 GS Adventure GiVi Custom Topcase Mount Install

Although I'm sure most R1150 GS Adventure owners already have a topcase mount installed, for those that don't and are considering one, this may be an option.

I wasn't too impressed with the GiVi E192 Rear Rack Specific Plate Kit for the R1150 GS Adventure, so as usual, I decided to make my own. I also like the simplicity of my install and the fact that I glass beaded the stainless plate giving me a finish similar to the White Aluminium finish of my motorcycle and tail rack.

Not really, but I'd be willing to send you a scale template. I made it using common tools: hacksaw with a good blade, coarse to fine metal files, a drill press. I did take it into work to use the large brake to place a slight bend in the plate and to use the glass beading booth. I turned the stainless spacers on a friend's lathe.

The flat, boring end...which is why I go to the Alps ever year.
