I need some advice please concerning ABS on an R1150gs.

My Brother has a year 2,000 1150gs with 31,000 miles, ABS non servo. He recently laid it up for a couple of years while he went to work abroad and on returning it needed two new tyres and a battery, and a service before it went for MOT. The gear lever was stiff but we thought that may free off in use so we went for a ride. At a junction my Brother got a bit crossed up when he couldn't select a gear cleanly and stalled the bike. Starting it back up his ABS lights started to flash and haven't stopped since.

I've searched on here and found the ABS re-set, grounding pin 2 on the diagnostics plug, pressing the ABS button and turning the ignition on for one minute but this has had no effect and the fault persists. Is it possible the stalling/starting episode has thrown up a gremlin, or is that more likely to be merely coincidental and the ABS has developed a fault independant of that ?

Advice appreciated :beerjug:

Not sure how long you held the ABS button in during the reset, but my neighbour was struggling to reset his in the way you suggested. I persuades him to hold the button for at least 2 min and that sorted it. I guess it might depend on hope you're timing it...

I'd also get the obvious stuff off the list (fuses, battery, connections to the wheel sensors).

But I can't see how stalling it would screw up the abs unless the lurch to a stop moved something (mechanically as opposed to electrical).
