the lower red light says on all the time on my mates R1150GS ADV so i guess the abs doesnt work. Think battery is good, both stop lights switches work. Servo works, and bike stops.Dont get the clunk from the rear when he pulls away. Rear brake/back light is one of those led jobbies, but he has used it on 2 other gs`s without a problem.

Anyone, any ideas?

More than likely the rear light. Did the previous gs's have a servo?

Pound to a pinch of wotsit that it will be the LED rear light set up. If the ABS is not working it will be the top (ABS warning) light which is on or flashes at different rates.

The lower (general warning) light will stay lit if there is a problem with the rear bulb, ie one filament has broken and the rear light / brake light are operating through a single shared filament. Suspect the LED setup is confusing the bikes electrics into thinking there is a defective bulb.

Nick,

There are different LED units according to what type of brakes.

My local dealership was given some to try before stocking them. They gave me one thinking it was the correct one for Evo-III brakes. It did bugger-up the warning lights. I don't know if it affected the ABS because I returned it without running the bike (they gave me the correct one, it worked fine and I'm still testing it three years on :augie ).

thanks
