R1150GS Adventure Luggage Passenger Footrest Hanger

Hi all,

I have an R1150GSA which came with touring panniers, and have a second hand set of the Adventure frames (for the aluminium panniers) I’d like to fit, however the passenger footrest bracket is different, and is in the way.

Does anyone know if there’s anything special about the Adventure footrest hanger, or if I can just modify the ones I have by cutting away the extra part of the bracket the touring panniers rest against?

If you mean the lug/tab the System panniers locate on then yes. I did this to use the standard footrest mounts on my TT Zega pannier frames. Will try to get a photo up soon.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, thanks! I couldn’t see anything special about the Adventure brackets, other than not having the extra rubberised bit in the way, so good to know someone else has sawed it off successfully!
