The 850 was a much rarer beast, especially over here. I think I have only ever seen one 'in the flesh'.
LovelyJust bought this,it’s the bike I was after 20yrs ago but was tempted with the 1200,had all sorts since but finally got an 1150,only had it a week but I absolutely love it.
"Sunny Yellow" which I preferred over Mandarin... You don't see many about even though I remember them selling at BM... A good spec of bike by the looks of it...Just bought this,it’s the bike I was after 20yrs ago but was tempted with the 1200,had all sorts since but finally got an 1150,only had it a week but I absolutely love it.

Owned for 11 years, bought a multistrada pikes peak to replace it 3 years ago, couldn’t part with it so the Ducati went. Still surprises people how good they are in the right hands

That sums up longterm ownershipThat looks great with all the tupperware removed! Like a proper back road scratcher.
Pull up on an 1150 and it generally gets more interest than a plastic fantastic 12**
The one thing that really blew me away the first time I rode an oil head was the suspension platform and how composed and planted it felt. It just allows you to carry speed through corners on back roads, whatever the surface that still puts a massive grin on my face today.
Then there's the way the weight is carried low down so when things get a bit wayward it's more of a ' yeah baby, I've hit the limit' moment rather than a 'fukinellthatwascloseI'dbettertipmekecksout' moment.
20 odd years ago when I was a bit dafter I
used to love ragging the 1150 I had at the time up to Alston and hartside pass from Darlington. Midweek, empty roads, an Ohlins shod GS. Heaven. I did the sports bike thing before the 1150 but found the beemer so much more fun and engaging on the road
Not off road though.. there's no hiding 250kgs on wet grass, mud and snow....
Having the ABS kick in while pulling up the security barrier at work in the snow after a nightshift was highly amusing for the lads on the gate as I appeared to just ride slowly into the barrier and fall over. Fugginabs, can't believeiforgottoturnthefuckeroff. Grrr.
Cheers Wrigsby1,it’s one of the last,it was ordered non ABS twin plugged head,it’s ace, very little to break down and a lovely lovely ride."Sunny Yellow" which I preferred over Mandarin...
