R1150GS: what can I do with this space..? ~

I’ve taken the silencer off ‘cos it has a loose baffle, and is making a really annoying ‘whiffling’ noise...
Behind the left hand Touratech pannier, there’s obviously a big gap. My question is: what can I usefully do with this space..?
Don’t think anyone makes a tool box, unless the collective knows better...
Suggestions please!

Tool Tubes... never really understood what fits in them, except maybe Sigg bottles... and I use a gas stove. And tools I guess, but don’t things end up at the bottom, unable to be retrieved?

Tool tubes + Me = inevitable comedy moment... I just know I’d drop a vital nut (or whatever) down one, and be unable to retrieve it... or am I missing something..?

I looked at these but by the time you added the relevant fitting kit, you were essentially paying £100 for a locking plastic box.
