i have a problem ,just upgraded from a r1100gs to a gsa and got it last week, its got 22k and been nursed, well in a straight line its ok but when i corner it sort of whines or moans from the rear ,almost like a bearing whining, its not tyre moan,i have michelin anakees on it,any ideas,i was thinking bout adjusting w/bearing if poss, any ideas, also no play at the wheel 12 and 6 and 9 and 3 no play,i dont know if any thing is adjustable ,

might be tyre noise check your tyre pressures and that the tyre is rotating the right way it's marked on side.silly i know but i have seen this before.

hmmmmm, well i check em oftem,40psi all round ,but it def is not that sound ,its more mettallic, its also got new pads front and rear, its like when you lean over ,it goes like oooooooooooooooowh ,you lean up and its quiet, just to add its not very noisy but my other gs never did it ,ive been reading abit and seen talk on crown bearing adjustment, ring any bells?
thanks for the quick reply,

Re-check your tyre pressures in the handbook.
Should be 32/36 psi i believe.

Does it only do it on left hand corners? Could be the fuel pump being un submerged in the petrol.

is there any loss of power? mid corner? does the bike feel like it was going to dive into the road?

I had that on my 04 GSA

they replaced the FPC unit, well something near the petrol tank. under warranty

ok well i sorted the tire psi to 32/36, stil the same ,its def from the rear and im really thinking either tyres are bit hard and worn to previous owner who was bout 15 stone lighter than me,soooooo before i go further might treat it to some new shoes ,tkc80s i think ,thanks for the banter gents-:beerjug:

it could be the tyres if they have been on for a while
they might have a flat spot in the middle of the tread forming an edge
and when you lean the bike you may well be cornering on this edge
causing the noise. Mine does it as the the main route to work is non fairly staight roads.
