r1150gsa 2003 couple of questions

Hi everyone apologies if these have been answered before,i,ve just picked up a 03plate 1150gsa...my 1st gs since i sold my monolever in the late 80s(wish i hadnt)..the bike has no abs and has braided hoses would it have been bought like this?im ok with no abs just curious...it also has a remus silencer and y pipe (no cat)...do these give any power advantage or just an alternative to cat set up? thanks

Yes, it could have been purchased like that.

I'm not sure if there is a noticable power advantage but there is a definite throttle response advantage.

What's the mileage?

Yes,braided brake lines were standard on the later ADV models.

Remus and Y piece sounds faster (i.e. it's noisier) but gives very little power benefits, but saves a little weight..

Could this have had the servos removed by some far sighted person? good move you have the best bike (ecept yellow 2001 models).

Welcome; had my '01 for 18 months/10,000 miles, and I'm now using it daily.

At some point I'll splash out on braided lines too..

my 03 has braided lines as standard

remus adds vroom vroom but little else now stop worrying and bloody ride the thing

Thanks for the comments..dunno where the thumbs down came from not savvy on the etiquette...just waiting of v5 to tax it, been sorned and guy who had it thought it had abs!...got fog lights to sort now worked on inspection and dont now..good forum cheers
