Weird.

My indicators stopped working 3/4 or the way thru' my journey to work. Left, right, 4-way hazard, all dead.

I have a Kisan SignalMinder (SM-5, if I remember aright) installed - it's been completely reliable to day but it's the only thing I can think of that might have gone titsup.

I'll have to try and find the original Delphi relay and plug that back in, see if that brings anything back to life.

Strange tho', nothing happened that I noticed that could've caused this.

I have had this on occasion with my Kisan unit......mainly when offloading and coming down heavily on the saddle.

Try taking the unit out, undo that clever little gate thing that keeps the plug home in its socket, unplug the unit and the brake wire if fitted , and any vectralights, then turn ign on and off and re-plug it all in again.

On one occasion, I had to cycle the running light feature through as well...I can never remember the exact sequence to make the indicators dim, medium or bright but just press everything and you'll find the combo. EDIT...I think it's ign on, hold cancel button, press right indicator switch to cycle through options, but I'm not sure

After plugging it all in again, mine works for another year then occasionally freaks out.

Hopefully it'll sort your problem out- they're bloody good little bits of kit- I run a pair of vectralights off mine as well, positioned on the outside back corners of my mahoosive vernatech panniers 'cos you can't see the indicators from more than about 35 degrees off-centre line behind.

Essentially, the unit is a complicated relay, so I reckon it occasionally gets stuck open or closed, IYSWIM.....a reset and a gentle tap (or just taking it out and putting it back in again) seems to free it up :nenau

Try pressing and holding an indicator to see if it works - if so it could point to a problem with your cancel button (ie it being stuck on).

If not try Bill's method (although I've had Kisan SMs fitted for over 100,000 miles without experiencing that).

Throw the Kysan away and just remember to switch off the indicators at the appropriate time and not when some device does it by default.:toungincheek

Packer is right

I had the Kisan in there for several years now. Flawless service. But it is indeed, titsup. The original Delphi relay is now back in (how on earth did I remember where I had stashed that?) and all is well

EXCEPT

I didn't realise how much I had come to rely on auto-cancel. I am half a mile past the junction before I remember I now have to cancel manually*

*in mitigation, I have a GPS that blocks my view of the idiot lights. I shall resurrect an old plan to put LED repeaters on the instrument binnacle, up at the top of the speedo. I have some bright 12V ones that'll catch my attention
