R1150GSA top box latch broken

Good evening folks

I have managed to knacker my top box latch, I’ve done a bit of hunting online and seem to have found the replacement part number but can’t find anywhere to buy it.

I believe it is part number 71 60 7 654 346.

Anyone got any pointers ideas where I could pick one up?

The only thing I can suggest is you contact some of the independent parts suppliers like Motorworks, or James Sherlock or Motobins. They may have a second hand one on a damaged case.

Failing That, it might be worth a gamble buying a lock from the earlier cases fitted to the K series. The keys and key barrels are different, but the catch is a similar style and you may, depending on your skill level be able to make a functioning catch mechanism with parts from both catches.

Had a disaster yesterday, box came off at 40k/hr lid ripped off when it hit the ground. I need new hinges and possibly new locking mechanism.
Not powder coated long either

I did similar to my GSA panniers earlier in the year, Ryebrook BMW in Warwick sourced two for me. They still exist as spares within the dealer spares network

As Ian posted above, I bought a lock and key set that fits K series and fitted it to my top box. Near identical and fits the same, note the lock set for the 1150 does not fit as the barrel is a different diameter than the K series, so you will have a different key (which isn’t a huge issue).
