Hi Guys,

Starting to enjoy riding the RT, but there is one pain I'm having trouble with and thats the handlebars,

Apart from being narrower than I'm used to (also have a 1150 GSA) I feel that I need to either lean further forward or backwards as quite often get a knotted feeling between my shoulder blades.

I have seen the general bar risers, do they help, but is this the only option?, are the 1200RT handlebars any different?

Early 1200RT (up to about 2008) handlebars would fit ( dunno about the switchgear though) but will give exactly the same riding position...You could get risers - lifting the bars by only 2 cm made the difference for me, but also - try adjusting the seat up or down before you spend the money. With the seat one notch down the bars are that much higher relative to your body, same as if you'ld fitted risers. (The screen will seem higher too and keep the draught off you better.)

Using the middle setting does seam to make it more comfortable to ride, although in bad weather a go lower for more weather protection, the more I ride it the better it feels

It is posible to use handelbar from the GS,,but you also ned the disk.

So thats the Bars, top bracket? make a differance in stearing? do you still have the wind protection from the mirrors?
