that'd be these then... they look the part and with 36 liter capacity the range would be jaw dropping, but like a mate of mine said when I showed him these pics, with the center of gravity up that high, the handling is going to be sh*te, especially offroad on mud etc...

May be a daft question but is the capacity definately 8 litres each side?

They're not ready for release yet as far as I know- they were having problems with the fuel pump picking up the petrol or summat...I was talking to Simon Pavey about it at the Off road course and he called the guy that's importing them into the UK...

I think it was a custom job, so it cost a fortune. The tank was handmade, so that's got to be expensive. Send them an e-mail to ask. But be sure you're sitting down when they tell you ...

Dutch to English...

BMW R1200 G 52 litres fuel tank: For the 2004 BMW r 1200 G we have developed a large fuel tank in task. The contents of the standard tank (20 litres) are for people who daily take off much kilometre with this bicycle a beetje on the small side, hence this adaptation. The tank has been made entirely with the hand of aluminium. The contents of the tank lie around the 52 litres, enough to drive a distance of almost 900 km without filling up! The tank replaces entirely the standard tank. Zij-panelen by themselves are also replaced devised copies. However, is used standard connections, level meter, fuel pump and tank capsule. The colour can stipulate you yourself. The tank on the photograph has been entirely polished on special request. :)

no I'm not really interested in buying one - just curious as to the price, I never realised it was a custom job...52 litres is way too much for my needs in any case...

Tricky, that's amazing! The first piece of computer generated translation which nearly makes sense!

(Fond memories of people posting babelfished versions of the articles Dr Brake posted, which were totally incomprehensible and inaccurate, but hugely amusing).

Just went back through the archives of the Dutch GS forum, and found this sentence (translated):

"Initial quote was €2000, but it ended up being much more expensive"...
