R1200GS Adventure 2011 Twin Cam Battery - Advice Please

Fitted a Motobatt MBYZ 16 HD to my 2012 TC, they are 16.5 AH and 240 CCA.
As these high compression twins have no automatic decompression and use pre-engage starters. they will struggle to get over the first compression stroke.
Often giving the impression of a week battery

Does this apply to the LC's as well?

If its got the CCA it should do the job but wont last as long as bigger battery. If the price is low go for it but don't expect a long life. However you could fit an all singing and dancing lead acid but if its not regularly used it will sulphate and fail just like a cheap one.

Brother days his battery must be 6 years old. It's a Yuasa that had sat in the shed for a while but it's only just showing signs of fading. It goes flat over about 2 weeks if not topped up.

The bike's previous owner bought the best so it's likely to have been a very not cheap when new.

Does this apply to the LC's as well?

No LCs have decompression on the cylinders for start up ease.
