What will a picture prove ??? You can accept the figure or choose not to - either way doesn't matter.
It surprises me you consider 370 to a tank is pretty good. If you're happy with that its no business of mine but I wouldn't be.

I had 600 miles on the range a couple of times after fill up in the US when we are bimbling about but in reality, 475 ish is as good as I've ever got and that is running at a very gentle speed on good straight roads.
Good on you Phooey for your 500 miles but is that mileage you actually do or just what it says when you fill?

It was 504 IIRC all on the commute and in the middle of winter - often below or close to freezing. Yes it was odometer reading not exact mileage but to be fair the distance google shows and what a run on the bike says is pretty close.
Its a mix of riding - some stop start stuff in the queues on the way back but a fairly quiet ride in. I plan my riding carefully, short shift and use high gears where appropriate. A big factor is small throttle openings and I keep speeds down to an indicated 65 max on M way and stay within 5 mph of posted limits elsewhere.
Might be a bit too boring for some but its just a commute to work for me. I do a lot of miles so it makes sense to me not to waste money. If I want to let my hair down a bit I do it elsewhere.

So whats your MPG phooey?, if your going by the fuel gauge showing +500, I'm not saying its impossible, but whilst fuel read outs can be stable there not always actual.
500 miles with the tank brimmed at 36 litres gives you an average of 63.14mpg if you run it dry. Just under 14 miles per litre.

Mine will do that MPG if I slog the engine and never go above 50mph or ride up a hill. Do any sort of normal slow progress and mpg goes to be tween 50 and 55mpg. The trip (reset regularly) was within a few % of the real consumption.
Does anyone know if the trip can be reprogrammed to show current consumption rather than long term average?

I get around 10k from a tyre FWIW but ride fairly smoothly. The bikes done 48K and still on its original front pads so I guess thats some indication.

just traded mine in for an Aprilia DD 1200, latest fuel map now gives a wacking 38mpg at best on a run (28ish round town), 3 gallon tank, so see my local garage a lot, brilliant bike mind
so think yourselves lucky, unless you go abroad on an 'adventure' or inhabit the Scottish highlands does it matter in a country where theres fuel every 20/30 miles!!

This last year Ive done a lot of motorway commutes usually 120 each way. Fuel consumption on posh Shell 99 octane has averaged about 47.6 mpg. The trip is within a few % of a proper tank fill calculation. The range is not reliable especially when the level is low. Take the side cases off and avoid motorways and it will see low 50s. I would have to ride at moped speeds to see 60mpg.
Plain 95 RON gives fewer miles per £ than posh petrol.
The GSA handbook states fuel capacity is 33 litres. I once filled just over 33 litres and the bike was beginning to stutter. I had missed a fuel stop and really expected to be walking.

That's correct but its also 90% of total volume so you can get 36 litres in if you brim it. I have filled up with 35.6 litres myself.
I once filled up here,didnt know what ron it was, had "78" painted on the big tank at the back, didn't really care as long as it ran(just about with a "little" knocking on take off), I used the(and still do) "about 40ish",anything else is a bonus, also owned an f800 and found the mpg figures way out along with the speedo but didn't care,it ran.i also like the 10mls to the Ltr method and I`m REALLY glad no one has mentioned what OIL they use aswell

50 mpg divided by 4.56 (the amount of litres in a gallon) =10.9. Where did you get the 13 from
it looks to me like your 10 mpl ain't far outMe and the missus have had ours as low as 260 before filling up( 8.1 mpl) to 420 before filling up (13.2 mpl) both times we put in 32 litres. BTW I've also put in 35.6 litres in on quite a few occasions.
The first figure was on German autobahns doing ton plus.the second very slow riding through the mountains and Switzerland. Hers was a 2010 GSA mine a 2006, both fully freighted. They were always within a litre of each other every fill up
