R1200GS Axle RHS lip-seal standard seal?

Hi,

Anyone know if the seal on RHS of the rear axle is a standard lip-seal or in any way special?

From memory I think it has a double lip but I'm not 100% sure.

My local bearing merchant stocks seals of the same nominal size but the lip that (sometimes) seals on the axle is different. Holding the BMW part against the bearing merchant's item the difference was sufficient to put me off buying them. The cost saving was nominal so unless you can't get a genuine part I would use the BMW original.

Hi,
Thanks for feedback. I noticed a bit of leakage last Friday, wiped it clean and changed the oil for good measure and it is not leaking now. Odd business. Spare not in stock, so I will get a standard one and keep it for emergency use pending getting the original.
