My 2005 R1200GS battery has just died 2 months after the warranty (like so many others). :thumb :barf
Is the 2007 replacement any better?.
PS. The bike would not bump start no matter how hard I tried. The thing would not turn over (even in top gear with my 15.5 stone jumping on it). Maybe BMW should have installed a kick start!.:spitfire

1200GS Battery

Chris have a look at my entry:Warning Rear Wheel Lockup. I had a problem and nearly a serious accident as a result. You cannot bump start these things and need a running car to jump it if it has totally gone. If you speak to your dealer v nicely they may out of good will do something for you as they have had loads of problems with GS batteries, (stomp your feet in the show room sort of works)if not go for an upgrade. See other posts. Good luck. Nomad

Just checking

From your posts...am i reading it right that it is OK / possible to jump start a bike from a car with normal jump leads?.....might be a daft question but there you go....

Yes you can. I did. infact when I tried to jumpstart with normal leads bike to bike, I couldn't but that's because my battery was totally spent. WARNING THOUGH If your battery is ok but just flat, then first try to jump start it without the other vehicle's engine running as you have a 'small' chance of destroying the bike's electrics. Only have the other vehicle's (car or bike)engine running as a last resort.
