r1200gs engine change

Hi Experts, I'm new to posting so please excuse me if I'm asking questions already answered or in the wrong place.
Will a 2009 R1200RT (Not DOHC) engine fit a 2005 GS?
As far as I can tell from photos of engine on ebay there seems to be no difference in mounting points and it looks like it will be a direct replacement.
Can I use my original gearbox and will all connectors etc be the same? Will my ECU/Throttle bodies/Alternator/Exhaust etc work with this engine?
Anything else I need to be aware of?

The RT swing arm fits the GS and allows a 180 rear tyre. So chances are the major parts are interchangeable.
