Well my power-commander turned up from the states the other day it was £185 inc post and no duty to pay so pleased with that ,fitted it to day very easy job the power commander comes with a map for a standard bike so I just decided to stick with that because it is going on the dyno to be set up properly on Saturday ,took the bike for a spin just to see if it felt any diffrant and oh my god it feels so Good the diffrance at low reves is incredible it's so smooth before it did not like to high a gear around town and it was snathey below 3 grand but now that has all gone almost any gear at low speed it much more relaxed to ride did not try it on the open road but the few quick squirts I gave it felt good ,I love my GS even more ,so can't wait to see how it feels after the dyno ps the bike is 07 R1200GS

Just a quick up date did not get to dyno the GS this Saturday just gone now going to be this Saturday coming the 2nd ,but I did get to go for a good ride on Sunday ant the bike feels great so much better than with out the powercommander it just wants to rev moor power every were and a really smooth tick over dose not miss a beat so really pleased it feels like a diffrant bike sooooo good I will report more after dyno on Saturday

Make sure you silicon grease all the plug in connectors, to stop the ingress of water, common problem after washing/riding in the rain.

thanks wil do ive got acf 50 electrical connector sealer i use it on boat electrics and never fails so that should do the job thanks for heads up

Just clicked buy now and just checked the only extra I paid was postage whitch was £11 it took 12 days from paying to being delivered as simple as that

On the dyno bike put back to stock so power commander disconnected the dyno had just been calibrated ready for the TT whitch is only for weeks away ,so first base run and the dyno says it all below 3500 rpm super lean and above 5000 rpm its super rich then lean againe ,,,,, 72 BHP ANG 59 ft lbs of torque ,next plug power commander back in it has the map it came with whitch is for a standard bike whitch mine is not rember mine has decated standard headers ,next run wow what a diffrance it's got fule at below 3500 rpm and a lot more consistent through the rest of the rpm range except a big dip in the power just after 6300 rpm then back up againe to the Rev limiter so the figgers 99 BHP and 77ft lbs of torque ,this is why the bike felt so much better when I fitter the power commander ,so now for the dyno set up it took 2 and a half hours and nearly a hole tank of fule each cylinder was set up independtly so that thay are both running exactly the same and the result is this 108 BHP AND 89 ft lbs of torque and a really smooth power curve no big dip neer the top , this dyno time cost me £100 ,so the ride home the second I pulled away it felt so much better power from the smallest of throttle openings it just feels and goes like a compleatly diffrant bike just smooth really smooth power I thought all the vibes whitch the bike had befor were because it he bike is a big flat twin I was wrong it was because of shit fuelling and no need for using lower gears it is really happy a 45 mph in 6th gear so loads more power loads more torque and so smooth I just can't recommend the power commander enough

Congrats. Sounds like you've made a good improvement to your bikes performance. Some added fuel really improves the Boxer engine.

The dyno numbers need some explaining though. You started at 72 HP and ended up at 108 HP, which is a 50% increase. Doesn't that sound almost impossibly large? What's your take on why that happened?

The only thing I can think is that it was silly rich at full throttle when in the dyno room even with the exhaust extractor and fresh air being blown it it made your eyes streem so rich and the exhaust sampling showed this to ,my bike may for some reason have had a falt and on full throttle and just gave its self way to much fuel all I know is the power commander sorted it so I'm happy .i went for a good ride on the bike yesterday Monday and all I can say is wow the GS feels truly fast that's exceleriaton not top speed I'm sure it's not the BHP it's the torque very addictive

Are you using decay headers and stock pipe? I'm thinking go going back to stock pipe as the Akro is just a bit noisy on a long run, as I found out at the weekend

Whoever said grease the connectors that was a good shout. Just had an issue with mine caused by some crusty bits in one of the connectors. Quick clean and back to normal running 👍
