who makes a rack or rear plate for a gs that does away with the standerd rack, i have a givi rack but that keeps breaking, so want to just fit top to a plate that bolts on behind the seat,
... If you want to put a top-box where the pillion-pad normally sits, BMW make a kit for their vario box ... you then do away with the standard 'luggage bridge' ... IIRC 'The Civil One' does a pillion seat rack for the Caja-Sahel top-box too
... If you want to keep the pillion seat ... frankly I'm surprised that you haven't already been swamped by them in the pannier business, what lurk around these parts partially hidden behind dodgy pseudonyms.
thanks for that thunder, i have standerd panniers so thats that idea out the window, i have been trying to order that rack from hattech that is shown above but cant seem to get it to order online, tell me something in german but cannot read german (can only order beer in german) has anybody used this company thanks geoff
Touratech do one in anodised aluminium on steel supports that use the existing bolt holes and can be used with standard BMW luggage; price here 143 euros (about £100.) And for the same price you can have a matching plate that fits in place of the pillion seat.
