Just bought a new Rallye and dont want to pay BMW £350 for engine crash bars

Anyone know of a supplier or maker who supplies similar at an affordable price?

But need to make sure correct fitting, IIRC BMW changed them slightly a couple of years ago.

Check on the microfiche sites for the current part number to see if previous models use the same. If so, then any 3rd party which fitted the previous model will work or get second hand ones.

No i just have 600 mile on it and happy enough with power so far.

Im in the same boat picking my Rallye sport up tomorrow and been told there is a shortage of the lower engine bars !! and panniers
not having the panniers for 2 weeks I can live with but I think the engine bars are a must, Ill look on ebay for a set now

If you're not going off road, just get the MachineArt covers. They'll protect the bike in any low speed falls. Anything over about 10mph will involve your insurance company anyway.

A pal of mine is waiting for his in a few weeks.
He is thinking of getting the rear subframe colour matched to main frame,could work well.

no from i seen the bike in pics i was decided that the black engine bars would suit it and it was just a matter of me removing from old bike and fitting after powder coating.
i also fitted the machineart head covers more to blacken down the cylinder head covers as i didnt want to paint them as i like to keep it original.
to do the bars blue would look tacky and would look tatty with dead flies after ten mins riding i reckon.
nutty, i think the bars are a safer bet than the head covers if you drop the bike, or have a small slide. Plus you can pick it up with scored/scraped engine bars and ride it home. You wont do that with a holed head cover.

There are some videos on the MAM covers; they're very comprehensive, so I'm happy that they'll do the trick, if needs be.

Plus, I prefer the clean look, without bars.

Unicycler - Considering a Rallye Sport now, did you notice much of a difference with the Akrapovic? Heard mixed stories on the Euro4 bikes. I understand there is no removable baffle as before.

I ordered bike with it fitted gregs.
Baffle isnt removable
Bike power is noticably down on my 14 bike, but only 600 mile on it so im sure it will free up as i had a 17 loan bike out and it was more responsive
