Hi All,

Looking at the part numbers, the rider seat pre-2008 is different from post-2008. But the post-2008 part number unifies the seats to a single part number.

So a simple question, will a pre-2008 seat fit a 2011 Hex head?

Thanks to the wisdom of the group in advance

If the part number changed, it'll most likely need some massaging to fit. When I bought my low seat, they did ask for my VIN to make sure it was the proper one, so I'm guessing that not... it will not fit straight away.

I've had two different seats on my 2010 TC, one Sargent and one a low BMW seat.
No problems with fit and no idea what year they were from.
There may be some minor differences in the seat construction, but all years of the hexhead seem to be compatible for fit.

My experience too.

what you after steve....ive got a 2005 gs so you could pop round see if my seat fits yours....ive got a low fitted and a standard spare

I fitted a standard GS seat but soon sold it because there was a lump in the base that clobbered my coccyx. It's not a common moan so maybe later GS seats solved the tail bashing antics of the version I had.
My Kahedo/Touratech seat has exactly the same seat pan. They cost megabux new so maybe they reupholster a new OEM seat. Mine has no lump at the back end.

Exactly my experience too Bendy. I was getting pain as early as 100 miles into a trip with the standard seat but since fitting a Kahedo seat I've had no problems at all.
V. happy now :-)

hi ya
does anyone here know of a decent "flat" riders seat, the standard and the bagster seat i have gives a very painful front wedgie from sliding forward all the time.
thanks

I find the Kahedo is OK (now sold under Touratech name). Try to get one used and sell it on if you don't like it. Seats are subjective so you may have to try a few.

The Corbin and Sargent are pan seats. I don't get on with them but others love them.
