Has any one fitted the crash bars from wunderlich which take spotlights?

I have just bought a 1200 and I am looking for spots and crash bars and they would do both. If so; what is the quality like?

Do you mean the Wunderbra tank bars? ADV look a like ones?, do a search on lights and engine bars that should give you a few ideas, also search on HiD lights, they are the way to go :thumb2

are they the sw motech bars and how are the lights switched? any chance of some close up pics? I have been to the bmw bike bits web site but they don't show the lights in detail.

it would be a lot easier if you became a subscribed tosser, then you could let me have your mail address :thumb2

Les' converted HID driving lights are the dogs danglies. If light power is what you are after, these produce well over twice the light output of any halogen spot, and twice the projection of the standard FF50

Basically there are two sorts on the market (may be more?) - the Hepco & Becker tank protectors and the SW Motech sort. Both aim to give yer basic GS that GSA look and provide handy aux. light mounting points which is why I bought a pair. I had a pair of H&B fitted with H&B engine bars. To be honest, I found the tank protectors a complete pain in the arse - a complete bugger to fit and then found that you were unable to remove the side panels to get at anything without removing or at least loosening the tank bars first. My own fault I suppose - there were plenty of warnings on here :augie
In the end I ditched them and mounted my PIAA's on a Migsel light bar. Much better :thumb2

If you mean the H&B tank protection bars - sadly not. If you go to the H&B, BMWBikebits, Wunderlich, Adventurers Workshop or Motobins websites there are shed loads of photos there. H&B also do their own aux. lights for the bars as well.
As I say, they're obviously a matter of personal choice but I found them a pain and the method of fixing to the engine bars means it buggers up the coating/finish where they attach.
If you do decide to go ahead, shop around. Wunderlich stuff is pricey. I got mine from Motobins. :thumb

These are the SWMotech ones fitted with Hella DE foglights, I think it's an advantage the sidepanels can't come off, it stops them getting nicked and flying off at speed if the bottom connector on the panel isn't fitted right.
