Probably going to be around 50% of the time. The main reason I bought the GS was to do some 2 up touring and thought I would keep the TL1000 for those days I needed a solo blast but the more I ride the Gs the more dust gathers on the TL.
Got rid of my SRAD purely so that I could enjoy more 2 up with the misus. hence, Id say that 80% of my time is spent with a pillion. I got yhe GS to explore the 'other side' of motorcycling and so that I could share those one off moments with my misus. At the end of the day shes my best mate and the more time I spend with her on the bike the better ! Cheers
'Cos I'm a sad git & keep a biking diary, I can be fairly accurate when I say that over the past 31 years of continuous biking, I've carried a pillion 18% of the time....
BTW, my wife reckons the 1200GS pillion is MUCH more comfortable that our previous 1100/1150 RT's.......
I ride 2-up 90% of the time my missus finds it much better than my previous Fazer 1000 although not as good as the R1200RT we tried. The only thing is she prefers to have our givi top box on all the time. I don't mind her on the back as she doesn't complain except when I go to slow!!!
I was very surprised when my good lady told me that she found my 1200 more comfortable than my old 1150, especially as the 1150 had a Corbin seat and an Ohlins rear shock. She said the ride quality was much smoother.
I wanted an 1150ADV until SWMBO sat on the 1200 and insisted it was the better bike, so I bought one expecting her to enjoy days out on the bike. She went on it once around the block, and hasn't been near it again in 6 months of ownership.
Maybe I should have bought that 999R instead ? Then again, its a twin, its red, and its unreliable just like my Beemer.
