There are threads on this, it appears they are not a sucessfull rebuild,
There are plenty on e bay, it may be the easiest option,

There is a place up near Bradford who rebuilt the old R1200RT ESA shocks for about £90, do a Google search for ESA shock rebuild.

TW Suspension did my Hexhead ESA shock no problem, give him a bell he's a great guy to deal with.

Firefox racing were the ones I were thinking of, any decent suspension firm should be able to rebuild the shock. The ESA runs off stepper motors.
