Has anyone tried a r1200r puig hugger on a later 1200gs or a 1250. I know they do one for the gs but the 'r' one looks a bit longer and has deeper sides. Just thought it might give a bit more protection.

No. But I have tried a GS Puig hugger (still in its box in my garage) on a mate's R1200R. It goes on, but the centre of the hugger doesn't line up with the centre of the wheel.

Just spotted you're from Barlick. Daughter #2 and her husband live in Barlick. They'll be here tomorrow night.

Huggers on a GS may look good but don't do a lot, infill panels are the most effective.

How far off lining up is it because they are slightly adjustable by loosening the three screws.
If it's still in it's box is it for sale ?

It looked clearly off the R's wider tyre centre, but in reality it was probably only 5-6mm, at a guess (it was a couple of years ago). I bought it for my GS but it contacted the Mudsling. I was loathe to dump the Mudsling, so the hugger went back in its box. Apart from the trial fit to my chum's 1200R, that's where it's remained. It's never been out on the road on a bike.

For sale? It's an ornament in my garage at the moment. Make me an offer I can't refuse - it cost me about £130 - and it could be in Barlick at the week-end (assuming my daughter and her husband are going back...)

Is it for the later 1200gs ?

Well... it was for the then-current R1200GS LC when I bought it in Jan 2017. Though I did change that bike in March 2017 for another GS. ;-)

Pics showing Puig part number and the hugger itself attached. The little shiny black area on the hugger mounting arm is touch-up paint I applied to a pimple in the crackle-black finish.

Ouch, just seen this Puig hugger is now £175 from Pyramid Plastics - their label is on the box of mine, though I think I got it via Amazon. OTOH, there appear to be loads of Chinese copies available. Take your pick.
