I have a 2017 R1200rt and it is covered by BMW used warranty for the nex18 months. The bike has developed a fault with the alarm and does not beep when switched on also the alarm does not sound when set off. I took it to Stratstone of Tonbridge today and a mechanic had a quick look and said its probably a faulty siren but they still wanted it booked in for a diagnostic and the cost of the diagnostic would not be covered under the warranty and only the part and the labour charge to fit this part is covered.
Is this correct and normal for a prospected warranty claim???.
When I purchased the bike from a BMW dealer i was told it had a 2 year Motorrad Premium Warranty.
