I've seen some risers on Ebay delivered for £43.70.

They state that it will be 1" up and 1" back. most of the risers costing £100 plus also say the same.

So the question is are Hellibars or wunderlich worth the extra??

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers
steve

It's a very open ended question could you post a link to the actual item? Like how long is a piece of string? One piece of advice is when the bars are risen the mirrors give a better view....at the expense of weather protection on your hands. JJH

I waited and bought wunderlich ones from eBay.they are beautifully made and easy to fit. I couldn't justify paying for new. On my previous bike I bought reasonable priced ones which were also good. Both risers made a good difference for comfort

I just got Heli bar risers I bought from eBay - £100-ish, but they make a great difference - they're the 1" up and 1" back ones

Worth having, but still expensive!

The only concern about the cheap up/back risers would be the finish of the tapped holes which take the bar bolts.

If the alloy used for the riser block is poor, and machine tapped rather than hand finished, you would need to be careful when torquing up the bar bolts incase the thread should strip.

The up only risers are simply spacers, the bars bolt through into the original headstock holes.

Me too, I got the fully adjustable Wunderlich ones for less than£40 delivered. They're very well made and adjustable for width as well as reach. There's some for sale on eBay as I type this.

I bought the cheaper ones from the US and apart from being unpolished, they do the job fine and are similar/the same as a few other more expensive ones...
