R1250GS Aux Lights - Did they use the correct switch?

Picky question...

I had some BMW Auxiliary lights fitted to my GS this morning (using the "special offer" that makes them a slightly less ridiculous price).

I was surprised to discover they used a grey switch, when the rest of the switchgear on my bike is black.





My new switch looks like one designed for an older bike. Does anyone else have this or has my dealer made a mistake?

Agreed. The one on my '19 1250GSA is black, from factory.

It has been done right. That's the colour of the switch.

It has been done right. That's the colour of the switch.

Mines exactly the same as yours Richard, on my 1250 Rallye, never really noticed it was grey till you mentioned it, mines done 2000 winter Miles trouble free, it’s covered under warranty like yours will be, just enjoy the lights don’t worry over the colour. If you want it black use a permanent ink pen on it !

As we all ready know, the switches come in two colors.
The grey switches are used on the non-tft bikes, and as the tft requires slightly different labels on some of the switches, BMW apparently decided to make the TFT-bike switches black.

The aux-light switch is also made with the choice of two colors, for matching purpose.

Putting on a grey switch on a TFT - bikes means that the person ordering the parts for the kit did not do his homework.

If this was my bike I would insist on getting the switch with the correct color.

I am having my lights and switch swapped over from my 2017 rallye sport to new rallye hp te when it arrives,they did tell me and ask me if i mind the switch being grey as the new ones are black,and i said no im not that ocd yet lol,alot cheaper than buying a new set.
