Hi all,
Trying to fit/locate the 'horn' part of a Denali spit sound bomb (i.e. not the compressor).
I have the Denali R1250GS mounting kit

BUT.....

My upper crash bars have a mount that sits in the location Denali suggest.

Dohhhhh......

So - suggestions please as to where people have mounted there's please.

Thanks in advance

Is yours a GS or GSA? I`m guessing GS.
Where is the standard horn located?
If yours is a GS it might be similar enough under the beak to my GSA to give you some ideas.
This is how i installed my split: i knocked up a simple L-shaped bracket to mount the horn in the same place and fixing point as the original horn which was removed. It fits nice`n`snug there.
There is quite a lot of dissasembly required to get to the area - or at least there was for me due to the location and fixing method that i decided i would like to fix the compressor to..

Where is your compressor going?

Thanks for the reply.
I have a 2020 GS (not. GSA).
I'll have a look to see if there is room as per your pic.
The compressor is going on the left hand side of the engine, close behind the cylinder, in front of the gear lever, using slightly longer engine case bolts (as per the Denali fitting instructions)
Cheers

That helps me as well. Where did you stash your compressor?

Hi, I mounted the compressor on the side of the headstock. Took a bit of fiddling to work out where it would sit without fouling the forks on full lock. The horn is attached to the underside of the beak.

On the inside of the cast alluminium frame to the right of the fork/headlight area.
The compressor/horn are also in an ideal postion for the air hose to link the two in a nice, gentle arc;

There`s a series of reinforcing webs that radiate out from a blind hole/circular section of the casting that i utilised for it`s strength and security of fixing point, you can see similar just above the actual fitting.

There`s not a hole through the frame at this point so i had to make one - you can see the new mounting screw in the pic;

Is that the Denali fitment suggestion, not very discreet, is it....!

The Denali compressor sitting is very unsettled !
Thanks for the reply and pics....
