R1250GSA Trophy tank sides

Quick question, before I click submit on a paint protection film set for my soon to be delivered new R1250GSA Trophy. From what I remember, and looking at pictures online, the sides of the fuel tank appear to be mat finish. Can anyone with one, please confirm this.

Yep that's correct, they are a matte metallic finish.

I've been in two minds about whether or not to protect mine. Its my first adventure bike so I think my usual go to stompgrips might be a little excessive, and I'd want something much more subtle.

Have a look here, scuff marks on matte tank panels can't easily be removed so prevention is better than cure. My 2020 1250GS TE Exclusive had matt side panels and scuffed up in the 1st few hundred miles (no offroading)

It’s been in the garage for a few weeks, finally plucked up the courage to have a go at fitting the film today. Really pleased with the results. Now debating removing the tank pad and fitting film instead. Hats of the TJD, great product, good instructions and even sorted out this numpty...

Mark, if you look on the TonyJames website it actually lists the kit for the Trophy so the right finish for your model.

Did mine today, im not good at this sort of stuff and im really surprised at how well its come out. Probably find the film lying on the garage floor in the morning now ive said that.

I’ve done a few bikes and car bonnets. Trick is nice warm calm environment and plenty of water. Mix in a bit of patience, and it can be quite satisfying.

Motographix in Rotherham do quite nice tank protection pads.
They are shiny and take some placing but the contrast looks good particularly on the Trophy

I love the Motografix panels for the Trophy. It's a bit tricky to get the numbers lined up perfectly. But they look great.
