Now this is going to sound really weird........
For the past 6 or 7 years I have had 5 or 6 new bikes. A GSA, RT TC, HD Road King etc. All fabulous bikes in their own way. Now I have an (scruffy) 05 GS with big miles on it.
I have spent the past 2 months living in the garage; just like I did when I was a kid. Taking bits off, cleaning, replacing, improving. Singing along to my tunes in the garage. Smelling like a bloke, getting in trouble for making a mess in the sink, having my balls kicked in for making the towel in the kitchen smell of swafega
Something you realistically cannot do if you have a "new" bike for fear of either invalidating some warranty or needing some dealer input.
I haven't really ridden the bloody thing, but I can say with complete honesty, it's the best fun I have had with bike ownership in years.
Do I want a 1250? Oh yeah! But I think I'll wait 5 years, then buy a shagged out one and have some fun.
I can feel a project coming
