I'm new to the forum so apologise if this subject has already been covered. I'm finding the seating position on my R1250RS (2022) a little cramped so have been looking at footrest lowering kits. BMW have done us a favour by mounting the rear brake pivot, the brake master cylinder, and the gear lever pivot on the same backplates as the left and right footrests, and those backplates are bolted to the frame. Consequently it should be simple to move both backplates downwards by using an intermediate backplate between the original and the frame, yet I have been unable to find such items. Does anyone know if these are available, or am I missing some good reason why this wouldn't work?

Hi BMW Do these
https://bmw.europe-moto.com/gb/foot...right-adjustable-footrest-r1200r-r1200rs.html
you have to buy both sides
Pm me I have a 2nd hand set off my rs1250 if you’re interested in my garage
Thanks very much! The BMW site says these are compatible with the R1200R and RS but doesn't mention the 1250, which probably explains why I couldn't find them. Are they definitely compatible with the 1250RS? I think I understand how the footrests adjust, by the rest moving up or down against the bracket/pivot, but are the brake and gear levers adjustable only at the ends? I'll be looking for at least 25mm change in height.

Definitely I had them fitted to an R1200RS 2018 and R1250;RS which was a 2021 model

The brackets have 2 threaded holes standard and drop roughly 20mm gear-lever is easily adjusted and brake pedal pop out Clevis pin and adjust yoke to suit

OK, thanks. I'm going away for a week or so and will be out of contact but will consider this in the meantime.

fittted these to a r1200r lc a few weeks ago , work very well

had the same on my R1200RS. I was able to adjust the gear shift enough but the rear pedal remained a little high. Didn't really matter as the rear was not used often with the linked brakes.

Just one point on this type of adapter, it throws the peg outwards a bit, so I fitted an extension to the gear shift so I did not keep hitting the tip of the shifter as that got painful on a long ride.

It made the RS more comfortable for me until the last year with a wonky hip. Now changed to a V85 which is so much more comfortable.

Thanks Wessie and Neil. Unfortunately as I am a mere mortal and haven't yet paid the £15 pa fee I can't see Neil's recommendation. I appreciate all these contributions but the issue remains that there does not seem to be a backplate available which would move the whole footrest/brake/gear lever assemblies downwards. I've seen a Wunderlich one for the R9T, but not for the 1200 or 1250R/RS.

Look at MV Motorrad Technik version .... now includes a relocation bracket for the rear master cylinder which lowers the angle of the rear brake pedal to overcome the problem wessie mentions.
On the brother in laws bike I tapped the end of the alloy gear lever and made up an alloy extension

Are you aware there are 3 different height seats as well, which may help.

Al.

Hi Peter my kit moves down both pedals as it’s designed by Motorrad contact me when you back

Hi, I used Sw Motech Ion footrests, adjustable SW motech gear lever and a nice little bracket that moved the brake lever down a bit from I think Wunderlich worked a treat, very comfortable especially with the sport seat. I still have the gear lever and bracket, send me a pm.

Another MV user here. As per above, RH side throws your foot out a bit further from the brake pedal, but I don’t use that very often.

I acquired some fancy levers from here, but only fitted the gear lever. It’s spot on now making perfect gear changes.

I also chopped off the rear pegs. No pillions here.

similar, only no grub screw or rubber parts. The owner suggested smearing silicone gloop inside and sliding it over the gear pedal. I did this on my R1200RS & S1000XR to good effect. They were on the bikes when sold.

It was bought in 2016 and the UK vendor is no longer coming up on Ebay. Seems his idea has been inevitably copied by Asians and the price undercut.[/url]

no idea what happened to the formatting above if I quote the post, it comes up as written

Some HP bling, also saved me few grams. Had a crazy deal so had to have them. You can adjust everything every which way.
Pegs go down about 1”? But I already have the Sport Seat so no issues with the knee.

All contributions have been much appreciated. After lots of thinking I decided to try a bit of DIY and made some new mounting plates out of 8mm steel. They drop the footrests on both sides by about 1.5". Brake side was fairly easy but the gear side created issues with the centre and side stands, though I have dealt with those.
