All contributions have been much appreciated. After lots of thinking I decided to try a bit of DIY and made some new mounting plates out of 8mm steel. They drop the footrests on both sides by about 1.5". Brake side was fairly easy but the gear side created issues with the centre and side stands, though I have dealt with those.
