2019 BMW R1250RT LE – 19900 miles
£8475 o.n.o.
Offered for sale is my BMW R1250RT LE tourer in gleaming Alpine white.
I bought this bike in November 2024 off this forum from a fellow member of the BMW Club UK. I was just in time for the bad weather of winter so the bike lived from November to March in my garage. I am the second owner – the previous owner bought the bike new from Wollaston Motorrad in Northampton – an authorised BMW dealership. It was first registered on 29th June 2019. The bike is fully HPI clear – never been financed, stolen or the subject of an insurance claim.
The bike has a full BMW Dealer service history; I had the bike last serviced on 24th April 2025 at Central Motorrad, Dalkeith when the mileage was recorded as 19144 miles. The MOT was carried out on 12th March 2025 at 18274 miles – next MOT due 11/03/2026. Current mileage is 19914 miles.
This is an early 1250 model and as such does not have the TFT display so often the target for our light fingered friends. As an LE model it comes with a list of equipment and features as long as your arm:
BMW factory fitted alarm immobiliser [and Datatag]
Keyless ride
Heated grips
Heated seats [rider and pillion]
Hill start control
Automatic self leveling suspension with damping modes [Dynamic ESA]
ABS
Traction control [DTC]
Rider modes: Dynamic / Road / Rain.
Auto lights [DRL / Headlights]
Power screen
Auxiliary lights.
Cruise control.
Radio
Tyre pressure monitors [TPM]
Central locking [not top box]
EXTRAS
Garmin BMW Nav 5
Avant front mudguard extender
Engine crash bars [I think they’re Wunderlich]
Pannier liners.
I have a full V5 for the bike in my name and at my home address. The bike comes with full set of rider’s manuals, one transponder key and one emergency “wallet” key. The service book shows a complete set of service stamps, the majority of which carried out at Reiten Motorrad – supporting invoices and documentation are present. Photos show the bike as it stands today but please note that the Keis heat controller and cable and Helite air bag strap will be removed before sale.
Condition of the bike is excellent. When supplied the previous owner had a protective vinyl kit applied to the bodywork and this has protected the bodywork from many of the slings and arrows inflicted by riders and pillions who might not be as nimble as they once were. There is a mark in the vinyl on a dark panel to the lower RH side of the tank, just in front of the seat. There is also a mark on the LH passenger grabrail – both of these marks are in the vinyl and do not appear to have damaged the paint underneath. There are some light scuff marks to the LH crash bar which have been touched in. Minor marks to top LH of the screen – these may polish out but I haven’t tried.
Tyre condition is good, tyres fitted are Michelin Pilot Road 6 with, I would estimate, around 2000 miles left in them.
I have two top boxes for the bike. The bike came with the standard top box and I was offered the upgraded top box from a member of my Club section who had had a minor spill on his bike. I had intended to fit a high level brake light and central locking to this box as it has the fittings for them but I haven’t got around to it – there is minor paint damage to this box as can be seen in one of the photos. Neither of the top boxes currently have a central locking facility.
The bike rides perfectly, handling is secure and predictable and the brakes are strong and progressive. The 1250 shift cam engine has plenty of torque at the bottom end and absolutely flies when you let the revs rise or wind the throttle on from low rpm. I’m 6’3” and find the bike all day comfortable, the seat is broad and supportive and the bodywork and screen provide plenty of weather protection. The seat has a two way height adjustment.
We’re only selling as we think we’re giving up touring on two wheels. I bought the RT as I was finding our previous bike, a GL1800 Goldwing too heavy to manage at low speeds [the RT is roughly 100kg lighter] but we’re both struggling to get on and off the bikes easily now.
Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to help. You’re welcome to come and view the bike as convenient. We’re in Gateshead, just off the A1 by the Metrocentre – it’s a NE16 postcode. The kettle is always on.
Cheers, Davey
