R1300 GSA doesn’t fully switch off

Trying to understand if it’s a feature or an issue as my bike doesn’t seem to fully switch off after switching off and locking. Wondering if it’s normal.

Two observations so far:
1. I have Chigee TR100 USB C power connected to the battery as recommended. It doesn’t switch off as I can see green light on TR100. I don’t think the problem is with Chigee as it’s like any other USB C unit.
2. I have BMW’s Connected Ride Navigator GPS unit which does switch off (it knows when the bike is switched off) but the power LED on the unit stays on implying it is getting power.

Wondering if this always on behaviour is the issue causing battery drains most are experiencing.

Does it stay on for a few minutes and then turn off? I have a garage door remote wired into my 1250 and it turns off after a few minutes.

Hi, my nav has a setting where you can adjust how long it stays on for after the ignition is cut, it’s so if say you stop for fuel the hav doesn’t have to restart. Check the accessories.

No usb c doesn’t turn off at all. It’s not an intermittent issue either. Will call my dealer and see what they say.

If your USB C is wired direct to the battery it won't turn off - unless you have it running through a relay on a switched live.

I understand if these are normal USB C ports directly connected to battery. But Chigee TR100 should go in to stand by mode if it detects that the engine is switched off. This is similar to Quad Lock’s smart power adapter which used to fully power off on my previous non BMW bikes.

I’ll unplug TR100 from battery and see what happens to connected ride navigator unit. If it doesn’t switch off as well, something isn’t right.

I’m trying to find if the issue is with the bike or the accessories.

Anything wired direct to the battery is nothing to do with the Bike not shutting down the power. It can only do that if the power is being sourced through the CANbus/ZFE modules. Whether this is through the GPS power port, or using the likes of a HexCan/fuzeblock which is switched on/off with the Ignition.

If it’s wired direct to the battery it won’t switch off . There’s no switch in the circuit.

I reached out to Chigee’s support and they suggested to unplug Quadlock wireless charger from TR100 and it did the trick. Quadlock was the culprit in this setup. I just need to remember to remove usb cable from TR100 every time I’m off the bike.

Here is how everything is connected; Quad lock wireless charger -> Chigee TR100 - > bike’s battery.
