I see lots of threads about buying taller screens, but very little about mounting the standard screen using the higher set of holes on the mounting frame.

Is it little known, or are the extra holes NOT for raising the screen?

I realise this might be today's stupid question, but...

Supplying dealer showed me this feature on collection of my GSA. I changed it to the higher setting last week after cleaning the bike but yet to test and see the difference.

Well spotted. Never realised.

went for a ride after moving the screen to the high position... I could not believe the noise levels. in the end it was unbelievably loud unless set to the lowest setting, where I thought it was just bearable... but 25 miles into a ride on a boring bit of empty motorway at 70mph - with nothing better to think about, I sat there and thought I must to slow down this racket is causing incredible hearing damage (even riding with ear plugs)

I have three GS' why does the gearbox and the brake/clutch levers have to go backwards a long way each time they design a new model - and why do we have screens and seats that have never been fit for purpose - trouble is a can't help thinking the R1300GS Ztechnik big screen is going to be far too small and the mounts not strong enough to cope ?

I have the standard screen and seat. They are both fine. My screen - on the high holes and in the highest setting is great. It's the first bike I have not wanted to change the screen.

You can't please all the people all the time.

I found the stock screen wasn't up to much on either setting. Bought a cheap wind deflector for now, but will go for a touring screen when I get around to it.

What are you on about!!.you don't even have a 1300gs.

But... the standard screen is still :poop: what ever position it's in
The screen you get as "standard" depends on which model GS you order & which options you choose; electric screen\comfort pack\Trophy model etc. etc.

Sorry, my mis, I didn't make things clear :blast I meant the standard RS screen, not the 1200/1250GS one (had 3 of those and the screen worked for me)

The thread is about the 1300 screen ;)

Which incidentally is the best screen I’ve ever had on any bike (standard GS electric screen)
