Hi all
A few of the old hands on this forum will know Sid (AKA Crapaud on the forum) and perhaps know of his project bike. Sid's a proper gent and an air head enthusiast. A few years back he was building a decent Dakar replica out of an R65 that quite a few were following the build with interest. He did much work on it but relocated from Devon to France and I bought it off him in the belief I would finish it off. I thought it would make an excellent big bike trail bike with a bit (plenty) of character. But life, kids and work (mostly work) got in the way. It's in storage in my office in London so been in a cossetted environment since I bought it but what with Covid and one thing and another the office is going and I dont have room for it - and work is as relentless as ever. So I really do need to move it on.
Its a project, not a do-er up-er so I know of limited appeal but it has the potential to be something very special for not a lot of money - but it needs someone who knows what they are doing (I'm not selling it well am I?).
There is a thread to Sids build here https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/308489-My-new-Project-R65
And some pictures and notes I made here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UYpKU8xRdNecqilResgi1GT41Ap0QCwBxtNCtSWDt8U/edit?usp=sharing
As you can see it has the essentials done and some nice bits on it.
So it has to go, when the office goes in a few months I dont have anywhere sensible to store it. So if you are that sort of guy, make me an offer. If I have to put a price on it for Forum rules I'd love to get my £1,500 back. But by all means, offer me more ;-)
Its located in London (Fulham) currently and likely in Oxford / Reading soon. I can take lots of pictures etc and answer any questions and with the right arrangement deliver anywhere reasonable.
Thanks, Mike
