Help...

I've got a set of Paris Dakar stickers including Gaston Rahier's signature, they came with the bike that I bought off Mr. Farmer of this parish. I sold the bike but forgot I had the sticker set. Obviously I don't require them anymore but don't know if they are worth anything or not.

Could someone please educate me on this.. :beerjug:

The stickers are stuck carefully to a piece of polycarbonate to keep them straight, just as I received them.

A set just sold on ebay for $US45- or around 30 quid.

But there is a big variation in quality - with the set the PO fitted to my G/S the multicolour transfer side panel is a soft colour on a white base, so the clear top sheet has to remain in place, unless you are courageous enough to try a clear top coat.

But the clear top sheet will eventually peel off, leaving you no option, and not all transfers are suitable for over coating.

They usually have a backing sheet too- if that has been removed and the transfers stuck to the clear polycarb sheet that might put some folks off, and it will increase the postage costs too.

As you may have deduced I need a couple of the multicolour items, but either solid colour or suitable for over coating.

Maybe if Rob was to let us know exactly what you have they would be worth a bit more----

The Paris Dakar stickers came from an Italian fella on Ebay, I believe, from reading posts on Advrider, that there's a size issue with them, they may be slightly smaller than the originals. Don't know for sure though.

The Gaston signature came from Bruce Marshall in New Zealand - Gets a mention here http://micapeak.com/bmw/gs/gs_varia.htm

Hi all, many thanks for the feedback, unfortunately I haven't been on here for a while. I put the stickers on ebay and sold them a couple of days ago. I had enquires from South Africa and Israel.... but still got just under £30. :D Still better than a kick in the teeth and hopefully they will be put to good use.

Thanks Rob, I will get in contact with the Kiwi guy and see what he says.

Hey just because he is in NZ don't mean he's a kiwi. We been trying to get rid of him for years. His tribe is Ngati Qantas and if we could get him on one of their planes and send him 2100 km back to his homeland we would.

The best Ard refuses to go cause he has found paradise.
