ok
spoke to Roger (Thunder) this evening about a "problem" with the twin disk set up on my 80 mono Paris Dakar..
have had the front wheel out to replace the split fork gaiter and do some deep cleaning
however..
on re-assembly i have noticed a quite disturbing situation with the front twin disk set up...
look at the photo, the wheel spindle passes thro the right fork leg, it steps down in dianeter near the wheel, and there is a spacer tween "step" and wheel bearing
what is the problem?
well the thing is.. the right fork leg is not locked in position against any stop (spacer) when the spindle nut is tight against the left fork leg.
the right fork leg can be moved along the spindle to "any position " if the pinch bolt on the fork leg is released
(in other words the wheel spindle is the same diameter both sides of the fork leg and can be slid along the spindle and nipped up in any position by the pinch bolt)
help!!!!!!!!!!
hm
this is not easy to explain... but its wrong!
